”Be Happy You Sin”

Yes, you heard me right, be happy you’re a sinner. More than that, be proud of it… Tell your family and friends and if that’s not enough go tell the whole world.

What would it mean to have no sin? Well, first off, there’d be no need for redemption, salvation, or sacrifice.  And that includes the elimination of eternal suffering, a.k.a. hell because there would be no need for a crucifixion and certainly not a resurrection or redemption.

Now, granted a sin against yourself or harming someone else as an action is obviously not good but the intention which is considered sinful would be erased. Just chalk it all up to bad behavior.

Darkness would no longer frighten us or become an image of sin. Actually the darkness of the soul would not exist. It would be purely replaced by a glowing everlasting light surrounding us. Add to this list of eliminations is hope… What’s the purpose of hope without sin.

Think of the millions and millions of dollars televangelists and church people have acquired all based on sin by holding out to us by using the perfect word of guilt… Guilt can persuade you to do whatever it needs to be done to be rid of it… however guilt is second only to the most fearful word and that word … is fear. Living and acting on fear makes you do anything to either deal with or get rid of it.

The constant harping upon guilt and fear can fill any church on Sundays.

Attending a church service would take on a completely different dynamic if the thought or mention of sin was no longer spoken or implied. Baptism would take on a completely new meaning since the sin called original would not be original at all. Because there is no copying afterwards.

The most sacred and solemn night in the Christian Church is the Easter vigil… At the very beginning the lights are turned off, everyone’s given a candle to hold, either lit or plastic… And the priest sings, “Oh, happy fault of Adam‘s sin”… And there you have it.  The sin of Adam is considered the beginning of sin and sung as a “happy fault.” When in fact, it is really Eve’s fault… (If only the husband didn’t listen to his wife,) we would have no sense nor be plagued by and be with sin…

Minus sin, I would have no other reason but to like and love myself… Minus sin, I would have no reason to doubt or question another person… Minus sin, trust in ourselves and others would be become an absolute formula or guidepost during our entire life‘s journey.

I really have nothing else to say on the matter, except to tell you in public that I am happy to be a sinner and will continue to do my best.
